For the past 17 years, I have been helping people across India with name changes, name corrections, surname changes and other documentation-related matters through the Government of India Gazette process. During this journey, I have had the opportunity to guide more than 16,000 people from different backgrounds.

Over the years, I noticed one thing — most documentation problems are not complicated. They become complicated because people don’t know about them at the right time.

I Came to Karnataka to Learn

Many people assume that I have come to Karnataka to promote my services. That is not the purpose of this tour.

ನಾನು ಕಲಿಯಲು ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. (Naanu kaliyalu bandiddene.) I have come here to learn.

I want to understand how students, parents, professionals, Government employees, business owners and senior citizens handle documentation in different parts of Karnataka. Every district has its own culture. Every city has its own working style. Naturally, every place also has its own documentation challenges. Instead of guessing those challenges, I want to see them with my own eyes.

Why Karnataka?

During the last few years, we have received a growing number of enquiries from Karnataka. People contacted us regarding name changes, spelling corrections, surname changes and document mismatches.

Some students were worried about mistakes in educational certificates. Parents wanted to correct their children’s records before higher studies. Working professionals wanted consistency across all their documents.

Listening to these questions made me realise that Karnataka deserves dedicated documentation awareness. So I decided to begin here.

Why Did I Choose Hubballi–Dharwad First?

Whenever we start an important journey, the first step should have a purpose. For me, Hubballi–Dharwad was the obvious choice.

Hubballi is one of North Karnataka’s major commercial centres. Dharwad is widely respected for its educational institutions. Thousands of students from different districts come here every year to build their future.

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ಸರಿಯಾದ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. A student’s future often begins with accurate documents.

If awareness reaches students early, many documentation issues can be avoided before they become bigger problems. That is one of the main reasons I wanted my Karnataka journey to begin here.

My Journey from Hyderabad

My journey started from Hyderabad Nampally Railway Station. I boarded Train No. 17050 in the afternoon for an overnight journey to Hubballi.

Train journeys always give me time to think. As the train moved towards Karnataka, I wasn’t thinking about sightseeing. I was thinking about the people I would meet, the questions they might ask, the stories they might share, and the lessons I could learn from them.

Early the next morning, I arrived at Sri Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Railway Station. One interesting fact I discovered was that the station has one of the longest railway platforms in the world. It was a pleasant surprise and a memorable way to begin this journey.

First Impressions Matter

From Hubballi, I travelled to Dharwad and checked into Town Plaza Hotel, located opposite the New Bus Stand.

Since it was Sunday, many Government offices were closed. Some people would have called it an unproductive day. I looked at it differently — sometimes the best way to understand a city is simply to walk through it.

So I spent my first day observing. I visited Jubilee Circle, walked around the District Court area, spent time near the bus stand and nearby market streets, and watched people going about their daily lives.

ಜನರನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ ನಗರದ ಸ್ವಭಾವ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. When you observe people, you begin to understand the character of a city.

Those simple observations often teach more than hours of internet research.

A Small Observation That Caught My Attention

I also visited a local newspaper stall. At first glance, it may seem like an ordinary visit — but there was a reason behind it.

For many Government of India Gazette name change cases, publication in a national English newspaper is generally required. I wanted to understand which newspapers were easily available in this region. I found that The Times of India and The Indian Express were commonly available.

It may appear to be a small observation, but practical details like these help me better understand how people complete their documentation process.

Why I Am Visiting Every District

This journey is much bigger than one city. Over the coming weeks, I will be travelling across different districts of Karnataka. I want to meet:

• Business owners
• Notaries
• Stamp vendors
• And ordinary citizens

I don’t want to create awareness based on assumptions. I want every article and every video to reflect real experiences.

What I Learned Today

My first day reminded me that understanding a city begins with observing its people. Even though it was Sunday and many offices were closed, simply walking through Hubballi and Dharwad gave me valuable insights that no website could provide.

Sometimes, the best research starts on the street, not on the Internet.

Tomorrow Begins the Real Work

Today was about arriving. Tomorrow begins the real exploration. I will continue visiting important places across Hubballi and Dharwad, interacting with local people and learning about the documentation challenges they face.

This is not just my journey. I hope it becomes our journey. Together, we can create greater awareness and help more people keep their documents accurate, consistent and future-ready.
